Barre is a workout inspired by dancer’s, made for everyone. It aims to exhaust each major muscle group in the body through a series of isometric exercises to strengthen and lengthen the muscles. During class you’ll target the arms, thighs, core, glutes and back. Barre is a faced paced, full body workout, yet low impact, making it a great option for everyone!

Some benefits include:

  • Improved posture
  • Increased strength & muscle definition
  • Weight loss
  • Increased flexibility
  • Improved balance
  • Improved mind-body connection

Some helpful tips for your first class!

  1. Leave your dancing shoes at home…

This class may be inspired by ballet but there is no need for ballet slippers here! Bare feet or grippy socks are perfect to prevent slipping during class.

  1. Dress for the occasion.

It’s helpful to wear close-fitting attire so that the instructor can see your form but most importantly, wear something you feel comfortable in and that doesn’t restrict you.

  1. Prepare to feel the burn.

It’s harder than it looks. Be prepared to work hard but feel great!

  1. Think small.

In Barre, you’ll be focusing on small movements. When the instructor says move an inch, they mean an inch! It’s these small movements that allow you to directly target the desired muscle. You might be surprised to see how much of a workout you can get by keeping it small.

  1. Embrace the Shake!

Shaking muscles does not mean you’re weak, so don’t be embarrassed about this! When our muscles shake, it means we are reaching the point of fatigue. The challenge is not to give up but to push through the shake until the end of the set.

See you at the Barre!
